Tell us about Brookie's Cookies!
I started Brookie's Cookies as a fun outlet for decorative cookies. Though cookies are still my main focus, I've also expanded to other yummy treats over the past year. At Brookie's Cookies, you'll find all kinds of cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, chocolates, cakes, brownies, pies and cheesecakes. Honestly anything and everything sugary! From my own tutorials and recipes, to other fun ideas and places that I love. My goal is to make my blog the sweetest place on earth for desserts!
Q: Have you always considered yourself a creative person?
A: No, not really. I've always loved crafts, but was not the best at them haha. It wasn't until I discovered cookie decorating that I realized I could be creative.
Q: Why cookie decorating?
A: In October 2014, my little boy wanted to make cookies. Since Halloween was coming up, I decided to try making some fun Halloween cookies. I was looking on Pinterest for some ideas when a picture caught my eye where the icing was so smooth and perfect. I wanted to know what it was, so I started researching and discovered it was called royal icing. I had never heard of it, but I wanted to give it a try. After my first batch of cookies, I was hooked and I haven't looked back since!
Q: How did you organize your supplies before the WorkBox?
A: My supplies were in random bins that were taking up half my pantry and a few cupboards. Honestly, it was quite the mess and was starting to get out of control. But I didn't know how else to store my stuff.
Q: How has the WorkBox helped you be more productive?
A: I love that everything is within reach! It's so nice not having to constantly get up out of my seat to get things. I also love that I can film my tutorials at my WorkBox, and there is a light above me. It's seriously the best thing ever!
Q: How do you come up with new ideas? What inspires you?
A: I find inspiration everywhere - from online to billboards and stores. I love looking at Pinterest too. I will find patterns/ideas and make designs of my own.
Q: Beyond cookie and cupcake decorating, what are some of your other interests/hobbies?
A: I love the gym and anything that involves being active. I enjoy hiking with my family and spending time in nature. I also love traveling to new places and exploring. And of course I love food and eating...ha...that's considered a hobby, right? ;)
Q: What is your favorite creative project you've ever worked on?
A: Disney Princess Cookies. They took me a really long time: some took me an hour just to decorate one cookie. But I am a huge Disney Lover and had to create some.

Q: What are some tips you have for people who would like to get into cookie decorating, but don't know where to start?
A: Be curious and find your cookie passion. When I started, I watched so many YouTube videos. I'm self taught and it comes from others' blogs and videos!
Q: What's the best part about what you do?
A: I love that I get to be a stay at home Mommy to my two little boys while running a blog. It's the best thing ever! I never thought my hobby would turn into my career.
